The Community Solar Associate position is the tip of the sales spear for Hampshire Power’s engagement on Environmental Justice Community Shared Solar (CSS) subscriptions. The position requires a comfort with digital sales portals, in-person sales, and strong communication skills. A successful employee in this role combines excellent consultative sales skills, with a thorough knowledge of the programs and technologies involved, and detailed oriented reporting to complete all tasks in a timely manner.

This position works under the direct supervision of the Customer Acquisition Team Leader primarily in the field, with office time (located in Sudbury, MA) as determined by HPC.

Compensation: $25/hr. + Sale Commissions

Benefits:

  • This position is part-time, with a maximum of 20 hours/week and not eligible for full-time staff benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Sales engagement at local tabling events specifically to attract residential customers for CSS subscriptions
  • Weekend sales times are anticipated
  • Track sales leads through our CRM as needed
  • Spot and offer ways to improve efficiency, customer engagement, and messaging

Skill Requirements:

  • Highly skilled at tabling sales techniques and experienced in team-based sales
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and online CRMs
  • Knowledge of and interest in renewable energy and technology preferred
  • Communicates skillfully with customers
  • Maintains harmonious working relationships with customers and staff
  • Learns quickly and thinks critically to solve problems
  • Works well in a fast-paced environment while staying organized
  • Excellent time-management skills and attention to detail
  • Follows through on tasks and projects to meet deadlines
  • Flexible, positive, takes initiative and demonstrates good judgment

Experience Requirements and Preferences:

  • 1+ years of private sector business sales experience (Required)
  • 1+ years of MS Office (Word and Excel Required)
  • 3+ year of general sales experience (Preferred)
