Hampshire Power is seeking a Director of Operations focused on managing the day-to-day operations and long-term strategy to support the growth of CSS and Retail Electricity Supply services across multiple markets. The position is ideal for an experienced operations leader familiar with the CSS and/or retail electricity supply businesses. GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION 

The Director of Operations reports directly to the President/CEO and is responsible for building and expanding the structure necessary to grow our CSS and retail supply businesses. You will have broad responsibility to lead and oversee the entire operations center including managing staff, improving functions, efficiencies, recommending improvements, and interacting with a diverse set of clients, customers, and partners. The Director of Operations will coordinate strategy and execution with other members of senior leadership including the CEO, Channel Partner Manager, CFO, and others. Strong communication skills, creativity and strategic thinking, industry knowledge, and a positive attitude are all required to be successful in this position. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES 

  • Manage Customer and Client relations including onboarding, enrollment, and billing administration through our software portal and other tools. 
  • Oversee all CSS operations including allocations, adjustments, drops, etc. 
  • Constantly look for and lead operations improvements and efficiencies including software and process improvements. 
  • Train, hire, and manage operations staff (currently two). 
  • Manage and track all software subscriptions, licenses, and other subscription services. 
  • Assist accounting and others with HR responsibilities. 
  • Work with management to ensure customer contracts and customer service needs are being met at the highest level. 
  • Assist accounting with managing commission schedules. 
  • Manage IT and other operational consultants and vendors. 
  • Establish, maintain, and improve filing and organizational structures. 
  • Collaborate with the management on marketing, advertising, and promotion effectiveness. Expenditures on marketing and advertising activities must generate revenue and be analyzed and refined to isolate the activities that generate the greatest ROI. 
  • Collaborate with operations and account management to ensure that customer satisfaction and service is incorporated into the sales processes and champion new ways to improve product delivery and the Company’s brand in the marketplace. 

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE 

  • 5+ years of senior operations management experience 
  • Extensive knowledge of energy sector, including community solar, retail power, and RECs 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Proven experience running complete business lines and making key business decisions based on data and results 
  • Attention to detail and highly organized, flexible, and efficient with ability to multi-task daily and meet deadlines on a routine basis 
  • Creates trust and respect with staff, team members, vendors and clients, and other stakeholders 
  • Demonstrated strategic leadership and thoughtful evaluator with desire to take decisive action 
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Skills and proficient in other software such as CRMs
