Wishing a warm season’s greetings with much happiness and cheer to all of our partners and customers! We have made it to the shortest day of the year with only about 9 hours of daylight, and are looking forward to the merry and brightening days ahead. As we anticipate the cozy winter months to come, we wanted to take a moment to thank you for connecting with HCG and helping us improve our community programs and services – thank you!

With the new year just around the corner, now is a great time to take a fresh look at HCG’s community minded programs:

Did you know that you can go green by signing up for Hampshire Power? We supply you with sustainable electricity, keep your money local and allow you to rest easy with a consistent monthly rate – it’s a win-win…win!

With our Hampshire Renewables net metering program, you can invest in local renewable energy without even switching electricity suppliers. Purchase each KW hour of electricity for 85 cents on the dollar, saving you 15% on your electric bill, all while helping to grow our community’s renewable energy supply.

Have you installed energy-efficient mini splits, solar thermal, ground source heat pump or wood pellet boiler in the past few years? If so, contact us to see if you are eligible for money back through a new alternative energy credit incentive. This is above and beyond any state rebates you may have received. Additionally, if you are planning on installing one of these systems, contact us to see if you are choosing a system that is eligible for this new incentive.

Bulk purchasing allows participants to save money, time and effort. If you represent a municipality, keep an eye out for our upcoming bulk purchasing opportunities offered through our Purchasing Co-op. Upcoming bids include copier and printer supplies, custodial supplies and street sweeping.

For the more senior members of our community, consider volunteering through our RSVP of the Pioneer Valley program. We will connect you with rewarding opportunities so you can help strengthen our community. Or, if you are just looking for a free, fun way to socialize and get some exercise, kick off the new year  by signing up for Healthy Bones and Balance classes. Both of these programs are great opportunities to make new connections in the coming year.

Secure your town’s financial future and lower your management fees when you join the Western Mass OPEB Trust. You can also benefit from pooled healthcare resources by joining our Group Insurance Trust.  Or if you need Town Account, Finance Director, Treasurer, Collector or Assessor services, check out our comprehensive Municipal Financial Management program in partnership with Baystate Municipal Accounting Group.

No need to hire an in-house IT person if you are a municipality. Reduce your expenses and ensure you are hiring a professional when you outsource your IT needs with Hampshire IT. We are currently partnered with Paragus Strategic IT based out of Hadley.

If you are interested in learning more about any of our programs or services, feel free to get in touch. We can be reached at 413-584-1300.

Enjoy the rest of the winter months and stay warm!
